Do You Know How to Figure Out Your Ring Size?

If you’re uncertain which sized ring you wear, you’re not alone. And even if you once knew keenly, factors such as age, water retention and weight fluctuation may have affected how your rings fit today. It only takes a minute to determine your approximate US standard ring size with the reference guide below. (Please be aware the most accurate way is to have a jeweler size your finger, but here’s a quick way you can try at home.) Begin by measuring your finger:

  1. Cut a long strip from a piece of paper or length of string.
  2. Wrap the strip around the finger you wish to measure at the widest point (your knuckle).
  3. Mark the point where the two ends meet.
  4. Measure the string or paper against a ruler to get the circumference.
  5. Divide that number by 3.14 to get your finger’s diameter or refer to the chart below to determine the appropriate size:
